ExecuSpeak Term	Plain English Definition
Idea Generation	The process by which new product and service ideas or business concepts are created and documented for evaluation. Example:
Income Statement	A financial statement that lists the revenues and expenses for a period of time. (KLJ) Example: Because an income statement is used to measure the profitability of a company, it is also called a profit and loss statement.
Inventory	An asset that is held for the sole purpose of selling it. In manufacturing, inventory may be a raw material, work-in-process, or a finished good. (KLJ) Example: Paint and tools are inventory at a hardware store.
Initial Screening	The process by which new service and product ideas are compared to corporate objectives to determine if there is a match or strategic fit. Example:
Irrelevant	Information that does not contribute or provide supporting evidence to a debate or position. Example:
Iterative	Incremental development. As more information is learned it changes the original concept for the better. It is never finished, only "finished for now." See how it works in a graph. Example:
