Elevator speech
The elevator speech, or elevator pitch, gets its name from the amount of time in a short elevator ride-maybe 30 seconds. Thirty seconds is all the time you get to capture someone's attention. The purpose of an elevator speech is to pique your listener's attention just enough to agree to meet again.
Example: Joe gave his elevator speech when he unexpectedly met the CEO of a potential client at the restaurant.
 
ExecSum
Abbreviation of Executive Summary.
Example:  The students were told the ExecSum could only be one page long.
 
Executive Summary Concise review of a longer document. Generally at the beginning of the longer document but frequently gets separated from the original document.
Example:  Sometimes the Executive Summary is all that anyone will read.  That's why it is important.
 
 Expense According to the accountants:
 
Factoring
A financing method that requires the borrower to have a contract with a client before the lender will get involved.
Example: The temp agency needed to pay its workers before they would be able to invoice their client.  The factor made sure they had enough cash to pay their employees.
 
 Financial   Analysis Evaluation and assessment of monetary resources associated with a new business opportunity.
Example:  The results of the financial analysis let the investors understand how much money would need to be spent and how long before revenues would exceed costs.
 
 Financial Risk
The likelihood of loss or less-than-expected returns.  Also refers to the potential for losing money.
Example:  The gambler was willing to take the financial risk of not winning.
 
 Fixed Asset

An asset that can not be easily converted into cash within a short period of time such as office equipment, buildings, and vehicles. (KLJ)
Example: Fixed assets are frequently referred to as property, plant and equipment (PP&E).
 
 Focus Group A market research technique that looks like an organized, frequently taped, discussion with people who represent potential customers.    The results provide marketers with ideas of what customers might find attractive or unattractive.
Example:  As a result of the focus group results, the advertising team tried a different approach.
 
 Franken-speak Convoluted and confusing text that doesn't sound like an actual person wrote it.
Example:  The user instructions were written in Franken-speak.
 
 Functional Organizations The various departments or organizations associated with creating a new product or service.
Example:  The people in accounting, sales, and installation are some of the functional organizations needed to make sure customers are billed correctly.
